Drawn to the natural world, Anita Soos has been observing the rhythms of nature in photographic explorations for over forty years. In her Cadence series, she has translated these observations into large-scale charcoal drawings and color, oil monotypes.

These drawings reveal her endless fascination with the repetitions, syncopations, and movements of sight and sound occurring in the natural world in water, rivers, oceans, trees, and in patterns that change moment by moment with light and atmospheric conditions, never to be repeated. In the print studio, she immerses herself in palettes of paint and, in a stream of consciousness, applies patterns of color, layer upon layer, until an effect of the Cadence of water is achieved. Soos has exhibited throughout Connecticut, where she lives and works.
